Dr Couk graduated from California State University Chico with degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He attended medical school at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, where he also completed his training in Internal Medicine. Dr Couk moved to Atlanta, GA in 2012 for an Infectious Diseases fellowship at Emory University, where he also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Research. Dr Couk joined the Atlanta ID Group in 2015. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America, the HIV Medical Association, and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. Dr Couk is the Assistant Clinical Director of Infection Prevention for Piedmont Atlanta Hospital and the Medical Director of Infectious Diseases at the Shepherd Center.
Dr Couk, his wife, and two children enjoy hiking, biking, and exploring new restaurants across the Atlanta region.
